Most people associate regas with their car’s cooling system, but their HVAC at home may also need regassing if signs point to a fault in the unit’s refrigerant. However rare these circumstances may be, the good news is that it can be fixed with professional help. Simply put, regassing means removing the existing refrigerant from the air conditioner and replacing it with a fresh supply. But this is rarely needed unless there’s a leak that compromises the supply.

But this is rarely needed unless there’s a leak that compromises the supply.
We inspect the refrigerant levels using our own equipment. A leak will usually have your aircon performing poorly with a weakened air flow. Bubbling sounds are also present when running the AC.
We look out for visual and other signs that might signal a leak. For example, unusual buildup of ice on the air conditioner pipes and coils, bubbling or hissing sound from the pipes or when the air blowing out of your AC is warm. We do our best to find and confirm there’s a leak before taking further steps.
Vacuuming the home AC along with recharging the refrigerant should be left to a technician. This is to ensure that internal components are handled with care and that the existing refrigerant is thoroughly extracted and replaced in the process.
In the event that the refrigerant has leaked, the existing refrigerant will need to be removed and completely replaced or recharged. The home AC’s refrigerant cannot simply be “topped up” like in automobiles.
We use special gauges to test your AC for pressure and performance. This is usually done to isolate the root cause of the problems we have detected so far.
We will work with you to ensure that the system is back up and running. The improvements should be available to you right away, although it’s ideal to monitor the performance of the AC in the coming days after the regassing procedure.
The sign that’s hard to ignore is that your aircon is not blowing cold air at all. It might even be warm. Hissing or bubbling sounds might also indicate a possible leakage as well as an icy piping system.
Barring a refrigerant leak, the AC unit should not require regassing because the refrigerant is sealed tight.
You will need specialised equipment and a technician to check and diagnose a refrigerant leak. So, if you suspect such an issue, don’t hesitate to contact us so we can give your home AC a thorough inspection.
Warm air coming from vents and significant decrease in cooling performance may point to a problem with your refrigerant.
The gas or refrigerant is shut tight and sealed and under such conditions can last on par with the lifespan of your AC unit.
